gallery b is a small, carefully curated, contemporary art gallery located in the village of Castine on the coast of Maine.
We exhibit work by over 30 artists, from established international artists to emerging local artists, in rotating exhibitions during the season from May through mid-December every year.
We also sponsor the presence of visiting artists in our community in partnership with Annex Arts Artist Residency Program. Proceeds from our special events, such as our annual Small Works Show, provide much-needed funding to support the professional development of our artists through our Visiting Artist Program, which brings artists to our community and provides studios, accommodations, stipends, and opportunities to interact with the community in meaningful ways.
We are a gallery run by artists and women. In everything we do we keep in mind acting for the benefit of women in the arts, artists in general, as well as for the benefit of our local community in Castine and on the Blue Hill Peninsula. We are committed to running our business with integrity, equity, and a commitment toward the greater good.
